Fleas love to be in areas where they are safe from sunlight and might have little bit higher humidity. This will include the dog house, pets sleeping and eating locations, and underneath yard structures or furniture. Ticks survive best in tall or overgrown grasses and bigger branches laying in the yard, where they climb onto or grab a passing animal or even a human.
